It's been a few months but it is finally done. I was commissioned to do a piece in a small bathroom in a couples home. Scope of the project was to repaint the bathroom, make a painting directly on one of the walls, and cover another wall in a pattern that played off of the painting. Materials used were latex-based wall paints, acrylic paints and assorted brushes.
The couple was a pleasure to work with and were supportive of my taking time off between sessions to prepare for art shows (as well as not let the summer completely slip by without having some fun). Learning to juggle the commission, other art responsibilities, my own pressures to finish the work and a full-time job was a great learning experience and there is nothing about it I can complain about, and how could I? Work all day and end my night painting? I am definitely grateful for the gifts that I have in my life.
The most enjoyable part was working with the client continually to ensure that their vision was being met. Seeing the room come together more and more after each session really brought things into reality and out of feeling like I was in a great dream. The smiles on their faces when the work was complete was the icing on the cake.
Due to the private nature of the commission, I cannot post images of the work on the website. However images of the work will be available for clients who wish to see samples.
